Custom Server Host and Demo URL

This documentation will help you to create a Custom Server Host for SitePad Website Builder and for Themes Demo URL.

Firstly you will need to create a CNAME Record. Always make sure the CNAME record should be pointing to one of our SitePad Server list

For CNAME Record for theme demos you need to point the record at demos.sitepad.com.

cPanel & WHM

Create a CNAME Record in cPanel:

1) Log into your domain’s cPanel and in the search box type “DNS ZONE

2) Select one of two options that will appear, “Advanced DNS Zone Editor” or using "Zone Editor".

3) If you select “Advanced DNS Zone Editor”, follow these steps:

  • Select your Domain Name (if applicable)
  • In the “Type” drop-down menu, select “CNAME
  • In the “Name” field, enter the prefix/first part of your custom domain (editor, builder, or whatever you choose… do NOT enter “editor.example.com / demo.example.com”, cPanel will auto-complete that for you.
  • In the “TTL” box, add 14400 (4 hours).
  • In the “CNAME” box, add the domain for which you want to show your custom domain “server.domain.com”, do NOT suffix it with a period/dot.
  • Click the “Add Record” Button.

4) If you select "Zone Editor", follow these steps:

  • Select your Domain Name (if applicable)
  • Click on CNAME Record button(on click a popup will appear).
  • In the “Name” field, enter the prefix/first part of your custom domain (editor, builder, or whatever you choose… do NOT enter “editor.example.com / demo.example.com”, cPanel will auto-complete that for you.
  • In the “CNAME” box, add the domain for which you want to show your custom domain “server.domain.com”, do NOT suffix it with a period/dot.
  • Click the “Add Record” Button.


Create a CNAME Record in WHM:

1) Log into your WHM and in the search box type “Edit DNS Zone”.

2) Select your Domain Name (if applicable) and then click the "Edit" button.

3) Scroll to the bottom and you will see an "Add New Entries Below this Line section". Click the Select drop-down menu, then click "CNAME".

4) In the first field enter your "CNAME" entry. For example, builder or editor or demos.

5) Enter your "Hostname" in the available field. For example, "server.example.com". ("14400" will automatically be filled in the "TTL" section).

6) Click on Save Button

Direct Admin

1) Log into your Direct Admin (Admin Level) then search for "DNS Administration"

2) Click on your Domain Name.

3) Scroll to the bottom and you will see an "Add Domain Records". You will see CNAME record to Add.

4) In the first field enter your "CNAME" entry. For example, builder or editor or demos. Do not put a period after the subdomain name.

5) In the second feild enter your "Hostname". For example, "server.example.com" you must suffix it with a period/dot.

6) Click on Add Button

Plesk

1) Log into Plesk.

2) Click the "Domains" tab. Choose the domain you want to Add "CNAME" Record.

3) On the selected Domain overview page look for "DNS Settings" and click the DNS Settings button.

4) To add a new record, click Add a Record.

5) From the drop-down menu, change the Record type to "CNAME".

6) For Domain name, put in the subdomain you want to host. For example, builder or editor or demos.

7) For Canonical name, enter the name of your desired server. For example, "server.example.com".

8) Click OK Button.

InterWorx

1) Log in to your SiteWorx account.

2) From the SiteWorx main menu, click Hosting Features > Domains > DNS Records

3) Click View Records for the desired domain

4) From the Add a new drop-down list, select CNAME, and click Go

5) In the Add "DNS CNAME" Record panel, enter the required information and click Save.

SitePad Settings

Once you add CNAME Record for both SitePad Website Builder and Themes Demo URL.

1) Goto SitePad Admin Panel and Click on the Setting Tab Menu.

2) You will then redirect yourself to the Setting Page where you will find General Settings

3) Add Custom Server Host Name for SitePad Website Builder and for Themes Demo URL.

4) Once Done with the changes click on Edit Setting to Save General Setting.

5) That's it you are done.
